Meet your trainer
Dr. Sara Schoenhals Martinez is the founder of Sparrow Senior Advisors, where she combines deep expertise, lived experience, and a compassionate approach to support families, care partners, and communities navigating life with dementia.
A Nationally Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA), Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP), and Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer® (CADDCT), Sara offers engaging, practical training and coaching that builds understanding, enhances care skills, and equips people with tools for each step of the journey. She also serves as a volunteer Community Educator for the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Sara’s work is deeply personal. After both her parents were diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, she spent nearly a decade providing and overseeing their care. That experience led her to shift full-time into dementia-focused service, eventually earning an additional MBA in senior living, completing credentials for Assisted Living/Memory Care Executive Director, among numerous other specialized trainings related to the aging process and brain change.
Before founding Sparrow, Sara spent years training and coaching educators. She holds a doctorate focused on the dynamics of personal and organizational change and brings a unique perspective from her background as an ordained pastor and growth coach.
Based in Washington state, Sara provides dementia training and coaching both online and in person nationwide.
